There a lot of real estate companies that give agents a free web site. Let's look at some pros and cons.
Con: The real cost.
What do I mean by the real cost? The real cost is the fact you don't own it and the lack of portability. If for any reason you decide not to be associated with that company, the site is not yours (I hope you at least own the domain name). Hopefully you can export the leads. The same applies to company email addresses.
Why do companies give free sites? Retention, they know that it may slow you down or even prevent you from leaving.
Let's say you own the domain name, you leave the company. You can use that domain name with another solution but all the leads that have accounts, they are getting updates, saved homes, they are used to the GUI... You will lose a bunch of those for sure.
So the real cost could be missing a better opportunity, losing leads, losing credibility.
It is best that you create and/or purchase something that you control and retain the ownership. Same for emails, phone numbers...
If you ever decide to leave, you simply log in into your site, change the company name, change your signature file, order new cards...
