The Amazon Principal

I had the pleasure of see Joel Burslem the Marketing Director at Inman News and Author of future OF REAL ESTATE MARKETING FOREM. One of the things he talked about was how he loved Amazon, and something they do very well. When you search on Amazon and you look at a book, they always have other suggestions. We have all seen it, people that have read this liked these… or something like that.

Well we can do that too.

For Example you run an ad on craigslist.

Lovely 5 bedroom 2.5 bath that sits on a quarter fenced lot

Listed for $450,000

Blah, blah, blah…

So you create an IDX search that is for homes in the same zip code that are priced say from $425 – 475,000, min 4 bedrooms and a max of 6. You base the exact search how many returns your are getting, if the result is more than say 25-30 you might to add a little more criteria to narrow it down some. Then create a hyperlink to that search.  

Other examples are creating zip code searches on a web site as seen on the side bar of my blog 3 Pounds of Real Estate
